About the Site
This site is about ASP.NET MVC, a website building toolkit built upon the core ASP.NET runtime that Microsoft has spent years developing. Like ASP.NET Webforms, it is highly performant, scalable, and allows you to leverage the massive and very useful .NET Framework. Unlike ASP.NET Webforms, it was built with testing in mind by being built around the architectural pattern called "Model-View-Controller", or MVC for short.
This site is here to help those out there who are trying to build web applications using the ASP.NET MVC framework. Good luck and I hope you find this helpful.
About the Technologies
A few notes about what I used to make the site. First, the site itself is running on ASP.NET MVC. That seemed strangely appropriate :). That is actually the only server-side technology being employed other than regular ol' .NET code. The data in the site is either contained in the view files or is xml driven.
Second, the site's design was primarily done in Adobe Photoshop CS4. It is a great tool to have for a web developer. Too bad it plus Visual Studio makes for a pretty big sum of money.
Third, the illustrations were done primarily in Adobe Illustrator CS4. That plus my Hanvon tablet makes creating illustrations fun.
About Me
This site was created by me, Eric B. Sowell, the incredibly handsome fella you see in the picture to the right. I am a senior application engineer in the international development group of Match.com. I also have a consulting company, Tekratos Software Consulting, which keeps me so busy I don't really have the time to create a proper website for it. A nice problem to have.
This is just one of my homes on the web. I suppose my central hub is here. I have a technical blog called The Coding Humanist as well as a blog around biblical and early Christian studies up at my Archaic Christianity blog. . I also Twitter. In my free time I read, write, eat steak, play with the kids, hang with the wife and develop for both money and pleasure.
